HOW TO USE DOWSING RODS

 


Dowsing rods (or divining rods) have had a few different usages throughout history. The most common use for them is to locate underground sources of water, such as wells or water lines. There are even Dowsers on certain government payrolls who locate water sources for their cities using dowsing rods. Originally, dowsers used y-shaped sticks as dowsing rods. They would hold on to each branch of the y, holding the long end of the stick outward. Holding it out from the body, the dowsing rod will pull the person (sort of a magnetic pull) toward the source of water and possibly shake when finding the source. Dowsing rods can also be made out of a light metal, such as copper. These should be an L-shape and should be held lightly in each hand with the long ends facing out from the body.

Another use for dowsing rods comes from the paranormal world. Believers in spirits or paranormal activity use the dowsing rods much in the same way as described above however they are used in finding sources of spiritual or paranormal activity. The rods used for this purpose are often the L-shaped metal rods. One rod is held lightly in each hand, sort of like you are holding candlesticks. While walking, the rods will pull one way or the other, one should follow in the direction it is pointing to and the rods will cross in the presence of paranormal activity (or a water source). It is believed that spirits hold an electric currency and the rods are attracted to that. However, when trying this yourself, the rods will still go towards water sources as well so may not be as accurate in finding spirits alone.

 Dowsing rods do not work for just anyone either, that is why certain people are able to make a living out of finding water sources with the rods it takes practice and maybe something else. However, results do vary from person to person. Just like having any contact with the spirit world, some people have claimed to see ghosts or spirits and others may never be perceptible to this phenomena. This may have to do with one’s own electromagnetic pulls to slight psychic abilities. I have tried to use the rods and have had a normal experience with them, mainly crossing when near a water source. When used by a friend, the rods would point in the direction that the person focused on every time. To the point where I would hide things in the room with the person in the other room, and upon returning, the person would focus the rods in the exact area in which the items were hidden.

Although there is so proof that spirits exist using the dowsing rods is fun nonetheless. There is a strong almost magnetic pull that does occur when using the rods and that is evidence of something, be it electro-magnetism or something else, that is the question. Another question arises in that everything makes energy and how to locate and conduct that energy comes in varying forms and in different ways. Either way, dowsing rods are fun to play with and who knows - with the economy being the way it is, maybe the area you live in may be willing to pay you for your services. Government jobs are hard to come by.

 HOW TO MAKE DOWSING RODS

 Divining, also known as dowsing or water witching, is the practice of finding hidden or underground substances using rods or a pendulum. Although probably most famously used to find water, dowsers also commonly search for oil and minerals. There are two types of divining rods: L-rods (used in pairs) and Y-rods. The classic divining rod, described below, is the Y-rod.

Instructions

    Locate a small, forked branch of live wood. Willow and apple branches are traditional, but not necessary. Some modern dowsers even use plastic or metal rods

    Cut the branch from the tree. Trim away small leaves or twigs.

    Trim the branch so that each arm of the Y is approximately equal in length and between one and two feet long (this is a matter of personal preference). The joined section should be three to four inches in length.

    Connect, if desired, a witness compartment. This is a device to hold a tiny sample of the material the dowser wishes to find. The cap from a ballpoint pen can form a great witness compartment although the end of the rod may need to be whittled down so that the cap will snugly fit over it. Witness compartments are a relatively new invention, and many dowsers choose not to use them.

    Hold the palms up with an arm of the rod in each hand. Hold the rod away from the body. The rod should be kept parallel to the ground.

    Walk over the area to be examined slowly and methodically thinking about the item trying to be found (water, oil or gold, for example).

    Wait for the rod to suddenly swing up or down. This indicates a result, and the exact spot where this occurs should be searched


Pendulum Dowsing Easy to follow instrumentation 

 Pendulum Dowsing is a very fun and simple way to begin to measure energy fields. Since we all live in a world that is comprised of energy, and since we all have energy in and around our physical bodies, the ability to recognize and measure energy can be valuable and useful.

In order to begin to learn the art of Pendulum Dowsing you will need a Pendulum. You can purchase a beautiful Pendulum at a metaphysical store or you can make one yourself. Actually, a pendant on a necklace chain makes a fine Pendulum. It's a good idea to make sure that the pendant has a little weight to it. If it is too light you will not be able to experience the energy readings as easily.

Simply hold your Pendulum with one hand and allow it to dangle straight. By doing some deep breathing for a minute or so you will prepare yourself to begin your Pendulum reading.

You may find that your Pendulum may actually already be moving by itself. Begin by asking silently "which way means yes?" Your Pendulum may begin to rotate or begin to move back and forth or from side to side. Observe what direction your Pendulum moves in when asked "which way means yes?"

Next, mentally say "thank you" and allow the Pendulum to come to a rest. Now, silently ask "which way means no?" Observe what pattern of movement your Pendulum makes when asked "which way means no?" Again mentally say "thank you" and allow your Pendulum to come to a rest.

It is best to remain open-minded and relaxed when attempting Pendulum dowsing.

Now, begin to ask the series of questions listed below, each time after receiving the answer, mentally say "thank you" and allow your Pendulum to return to a neutral state before proceeding to the next question.

Exercises:

1.) Ask the Pendulum the following questions: Is today Monday? Is today Tuesday? Continue to ask the Pendulum about all of the different days of the week. You want to experience what happens and how the Pendulum responds when the answer is "yes" as opposed to when the answer is "no".

Since you already know which day of the week it is, it will be easy for you to observe the accuracy of your Pendulum reading.

2.) If you have a dog or a cat, hold the Pendulum over the head of your pet and observe what your Pendulum does.

3.) Hold your Pendulum over a healthy green plant and observe what occurs.

4.) Hold your Pendulum over a dead plant and observe what happens.

5.) Hold your Pendulum over a healthy food, like fresh fruit, for example, and ask "Is this food beneficial to my health?", and observe what happens.

6.) Hold the Pendulum over a non-healthy food and ask the same question.

Experiment with your Pendulum. Remember that it is vital that you phrase your questions so that the answer will be either yes or no.
